(not so) secretly a total geek

Hi people! So, I'm an oboist, among other things. I know, you probably never would have guessed. I'm an artist primarily, but "that oboe kid" sounds better. My art is primarily 3D, including sculpture, ceramics, small metalworking, and wearable art. I draw too, but its mostly doodles and the occasional fan art. I love reading. Um, I consider myself a member of many fandoms, but here are some of the big ones.
-Sherlock
-Doctor Who
-Star Trek (2009)
-Welcome To Night Vale
-Firefly
-Fullmetal Alchemist
-Studio Ghibli
-Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit
-Homestuck
-Harry Potter
...and many more, depending on what i'm watching at the time

Ask me a question and I'll tell you no lies

this came out of a discussion with a friend about the spider-man movies. i mispoke, saying something along the lines of, “when spider-man lands on the american flag,” when i meant to say was the flag pole but of course, the damage was done and now you all have to look at this ridiculous thing.

Blood bounces quite strikingly on snow not only because of the obvious color/contrast discrepancy, but the large difference in temperatures.

Another post to add to the list of “I swear I’m not a serial killer, just a writer”

I’m not even a writer and this is awesome.

I’m not even a serial killer and I love this

im a serial killer

Be kind to yourself. Stop telling yourself that whatever you are struggling with “should” be easy. If something is hard for you, it is hard for you. There are probably Reasons, though those may just be how you are wired. Acknowledge these things. When you finish something hard, be proud! Celebrate a little.

And really, just stop saying “should” to yourself about your thoughts and feelings in any context. You feel how you feel. The things in your head are the things in your head. You can’t change either directly through sheer force of will. You can only change what you do. Stop beating yourself up for who and what you are right now–it isn’t productive. Focus on moving forward.

How to keep moving forward, even when your brain hates you. (via rajkumaris)

And here we can see the Blogger in her natural habitat.

The blogger is a shy, docile creature…

… that prefers the darkness…

… and tends to be wary of the outside world.

The Blogger rarely sleeps, and when it does, it does so in seemingly random places.image

We have attempted to understand the dietary habits of the Blogger…

… but to no avail.

I am so glad this is back

I just saw someone typo sarcasm as “sarchasm” and I love that. I love it. I want to develop a pointed, dry wit that causes people to trip and fall into its unfathomable depths, forever lost to the rest of the world. Sarchasm. Amazing.
